CHARACTERS
Founder Sim 1 - Lufrit Donavista
(Alchemist)
Lufrit Donavista faced exile from Wanderlandia due to his unconventional approach to alchemy, driven by his innate childish trait that sought to break free from mundane research routines. During his exile, he traversed the lands, embracing adventures and acquiring skills in fishing, gathering, and gardening.
His journey led him to Robin Nicolas during her moments of sadness, and drawn to her mysterious aura, he uplifted her and learned about her tragic history. Now settled in Riverview with his wife, Lufrit is determined to pursue his version of alchemy and also to unravel the mysteries surrounding Robin.
Founder Sim 2 - Robin Donavista, nee Nicolas
(Law Enforcement (Forensics))
Robin Nicolas, a gifted archaeologist, grew up under the guidance of her single father, who instilled in her a love for archaeology. Her childhood experiences in dangerous archaeological expeditions cultivated traits of genius, bravery, and perceptiveness. These qualities were complemented by her bookworm and artistic tendencies, which developed during her formative years studying even before her father decided to take her for expeditions.
After her father's mysterious murder in her early 20s, Robin embarked on a solitary investigation, nearly succumbing to despair. However, her path intersected with the cheerful Lufrit Donavista, whose childish optimism brought her hope and encouragement to continue her pursuit. Settling in Riverview, they now build a life together, determined to uncover the truth behind Robin's father's tragic demise.
CHAPTER 1.1
THE FIRST DAY

Budget Home: Exterior View
|
|
Budget Home: Interior View
|
The Donavista family has arrived in Riverview! They purchased the 'Budget Home' as their new residence in town. They decided to start small and work their way up, considering their limited finances. Additionally, they feel that the area is somewhat unfamiliar to them, so they believe it's better to explore the town while beginning from a more modest starting point.
|
Aleister's Alchemy Station - §850 |
Slight renovation to their home: added a room to fit the newly acquired alchemy station for Lufrit to use.
Lufrit immediately began researching alchemy as soon as they reached home. He could finally scratch the itch of alchemy after a long time travelling.
|
Riverview Police Department
|
Meanwhile, Robin immediately goes to the town's police station to apply for a job in law enforcement. She gets accepted immediately, although as expected, she has to work her way up. She is given the positions of a "Snitch", which is not the most popular position in the force due to the nature of the job. However, she have to make do until she got promoted.
|
Riverview Town Center
|
Robin is able to sightsee the town center a little bit during her taxi ride to the police station. She remarked that this town is very quaint and will be very suitable as a reprieve after going through so much tough times in her recent past.
After gaining some skills in alchemy, he grabbed some seeds that were together with the alchemy station and immediately rushed to the town, ignoring the university mascot waiting outside his home. Although he would have liked to talk to this llama buffoon, his love for alchemy triumphed over all else.
Back to Robin, after securing a job in the police station, she decided to explore the town on foot. While strolling through the town's park, she stumbled upon a chessboard installed in one of the gazebos in the town center. In the mood to practice some chess, she recalled it had been a long time since she last played. The memories took her back to when her father was still alive, and they used to play chess together. Those were the good times.
|
City Hall |
Lufrit goes to City Hall to register as a self-employed alchemist. He discovers that alchemy is a highly welcomed skill set in the town of Riverview, open for everyone to learn, regardless of their background. Unlike his previous experience in Wanderlandia, there is no gatekeeping. He is very pleased with how warmly alchemy is embraced here.
|
Aleister's Elixirs and Sundries |
Afterwards, he went to the bookstore to browse some alchemy recipes but found out that they were very complex, and he needed to conduct more alchemical research. He then visited another store specializing in elixirs and related items but encountered the same situation. Eventually, he went back home.
Upon his return, not only did he discover a random shrew that he eventually pocketed in front of his home, but he also noticed a distinctly unique structure that hadn't been there before he left. As he inspected it, BOOM!
A person emerges from the structure! Lufrit is flabbergasted. The futuristic-looking person introduce himself as Emit Relevart and hands Lufrit a peculiar portable electronic device. Emit explains that it is an "Almanac of Time". "You can travel through time with that," he says. "You have to use it in conjunction with this "Time Portal" here," he continued, gesturing towards the structure that he had just come out of. He further said to Lufrit,
He would certainly like to help this man find his Power Cells. He immediately noticed a bunch of metallic things scattered around his home and proceeded to check them out. It turns out they are indeed the Power Cells that Emit guy needed. He collected enough of them and gave them to Emit.
Emit thanked Lufrit and explained the portal's structure. Lufrit listened with awe. He definitely wanted to enter the portal but resisted the urge to do so because he wanted to focus on his alchemical pursuits. Time travel was not a priority for him at the moment. During his days in Wanderlandia, he had heard stories about people returning from another realm through portals, and they had mutations resulting in non-functional limbs—limbs replaced with something useless, like a piece of wood, or losing limbs altogether.
Emit assured him that those were just rumors or the work of scammer scientists using unproven methods for time travel. Lufrit contemplated and decided that he would check them out later, when he was more stable and established in his current world.
Emit accepted his statement and looked forward to meeting him in the future, no pun intended. He went back to the portal, pressing some buttons on his own Almanac of Time, and finally entered the portal's bright light, vanishing.
While her husband dealt with matters outside, Robin left the town center's gazebo and returned home. Robin continued her pursuit of logical skills by reading a logic textbook, "Logic Vol. 1: Knights vs. Bishops," written by Matt Goss, which teaches fundamentals of logic using chess analogies. "More chess, neat!" she thought.
After being in awe of Emit's story, Lufrit returned to his alchemy room to conduct more research, this time focusing on gardening.
To make space for his gardening endeavor, Lufrit repurposed his front yard. He mowed the grass and relocated the decorative bush from the front to the side of his house. Additionally, he moved the portal from the front yard to another location.
He made use of the seeds he acquired from the alchemy station and planted them in the new space.
Rodent Terrarium - §350
Afterwards, he purchased a new terrarium for the shrew he had found earlier before inspecting the portal. He named the shrew, Toto.
Lufrit, enthusiasm evident in his voice, turned to Robin with anticipation. "Honey, what do you think?"
Robin squinted her eyes, assessing the situation. "That is a shrew? They have a high metabolism and a big appetite. Even though they're tiny, they're very active and need to consume their body weight in food daily. You better have enough stock of their food."
Lufrit, appreciating her practicality, chuckled. "Oh, it's a shrew, I thought this was a mouse. That's what I like about you!"
Lufrit affectionately gazed at Toto, the not-mouse-but-shrew, with a reminiscent smile. "Awww, Toto, you would be just like the llama from my old place... he used to, well, shit quite a lot."
Toto maintained a poker face, unaffected by Lufrit's comparison.
Lufrit continued to watch Toto's antics for a while before deciding to head out for some grocery shopping.
"Let's go buy some vegetables!" he exclaimed as he spotted a couple of people in the vicinity. Perhaps, he thought, he would introduce himself to the townspeople tomorrow. "Right now, we've got some shopping to do," he added.
|
Faux Stove - §800
|
A brand new stove had just arrived at the house. They were surprised to find out that a stove was not included in the package deal when purchasing the house plus furnishings. Well, that solved the cooking problem.
After Lufrit returned from his grocery shopping, he went back to his station and decided to create an elixir called "Vial of Bliss," a recipe he had learned from his brief research on his station.
Meanwhile, Robin prepared a serving of Autumn Salad using the ingredients bought by Lufrit. Also, during her recent reading session just now, she found time to peruse a cooking textbook, gaining some knowledge on how to cook simple dishes.
With the food prepared, they sat down and asked each other about their day.
Lufrit spoke first, "It's been a very fine day. I registered as a self-employed alchemist. Surprisingly, people here are like me—no judgment on whatever everyone does."
"That's great for you," Robin responded. "I strolled through the town center's park; it was very lovely and quaint. I love it here; it reminds me of my childhood home."
Lufrit, shifting the conversation, asked, "Hey! You got the job, right? Any clues about your father's death? It's quiet around this town; the killer might be hiding—"
Robin interrupted, "Ugh, let's not talk about it now, okay honey? Let's enjoy the moment. We just moved here; let's take it all in. We're not going to make the same mistake again, okay?"
Lufrit smiled, "Gotcha, boss!"
They continued talking about other topics, such as the portal and their activities in town, as well as the skills they had developed. After finishing their meal, they took care of their needs, and eventually, the fatigue caught up with them, leading them to drift into a peaceful sleep.
As the night settled in, both Robin and Lufrit were deep in slumber, engaged in some amusing sleep talk.
Robin: zzz... ...Hmm maybe tomorrow I'm gonna try some painting... ...zzz
Lufrit: zzz... ...Gosh darnit, I forgot to take out the trash... Oh well, it ain't full yet... ...zzz
Alas, Day 1 came to an end. Both of them successfully secured their desired jobs and made progress in enhancing their skills along the way. They were also introduced to the portal system, offering a glimpse into the potential for future adventures. And of course, there was Toto. What would the next days have in store for them?

Author's Notes:
Wow! I can't believe I completed my first ever official Sims 3 blog ever! Very different from what I used to do, and definitely way different in terms of how I approach playing The Sims 3. Bulk of the time is just the process of tidying up the blog with all the formatting, but hopefully with that figured out, the future process will be much smoother.
Regarding the writing process, let's start from the gameplay itself first. I play usually very goal oriented, without any story reason behind it. So, whenever I start writing on the blog, I'm just gonna improvise the story. I made the backstory based on the rolled parameters. So, hopefully the story itself won't end up in a trainwreck 😂
Also I am not a good writer. So I have to use the service of Mr. ChatGPT from time to time and ask him about my grammar. I also asked him to make my sentences more beautiful. I don't know the ethics of writing a blog, so if this is frowned upon, then just holla at the comment section below. I'll try to learn as best as possible on how to write beautifully through my blogging journey.
Anyways, I think I am satisfied for now. The start of my Sims 3 blogging journey. Hopefully I can do another by next week, depending on my free time. If not then, y'all just have to wait 😂
